Sadly, it is not new. The sources have had a little work, but it is still
essentially the same as before.
And it has some serious defects that are crying out for skilled attention.

I have, and it is still only a very alpha trial at a Linux version. Not
much has changed since the previous "Linux" attempt. Arachne has much to
offer, in both DOS and Linux, but no-one has offered any help to advance this
any further.

The DOS version is relatively new. It offers a much improved download
speed over the previous versions.
There is still development peripheral to the core.exe, i.e. adding extra
functionality with "plug-ins" (to which I am also contributing), but
development of the core has ceased because of lack of C-literate programmers
willing to contribute time and effort.

In my view, it is a very worthwhile project that is going to stagnate
unless new coding blood can be found.
