On some earlier Toshibas the screen could be stretched in text
mode with a little program called "Ultra" but I couldnt get that
to work with the Satellites.

Thanks for the suggestion, tried this but only #4 was any good. Some
made the screen even narrower. This with the anonymous VMLINUZ kernel.
