It appears you are running X with
16 colors (4 bit). IIRC links2
requires a minimum of 256 colors
(8 bit). Unfortunately Xvesa
(the default X driver in BL3) is
unable to do 8-bit color. However,
Xvesa can do 15-bit or 16-bit color.
If your hardware can do 15-bit color,
I suggest you use that.
If your hardware is not capable of
15-bit color, I suggest you replace
Xvesa with an Xserver from Slackware.
