I just came from a monthly Linux club meeting,
and got some help getting the Compaq on the
internet using a LinkSys ethernet card (not
wireless, using a cable), with success.

Also got another old laptop, a Toshiba
Satellite Pro 430CDT, up and running and
connected to the internet. That one has
Turbo Linux 6.0 installed (with kernel 2.2.14
-- older than BL!) and only 32 MB of RAM.

Nah. My winning bid on Ebay was $6.14, and
with postage (which was more), total = $13.14.
