I just read on the Linux-Kernel mailing list archive,

32GB if your BIOS/IDE controller cannot.
I just tried an experiment with BL2 a few weeks ago on a 160GB drive in a PPro 180 machine and cfdisk showed 132 (or was it 138?) GB of the drive space. I didn't try to partition or format it, but it seemed to register as much of the disk as it could--despite BIOS limitations. On the FREESCO forums--FREESCO using a 2.0.x kernel--the consensus is that drives up to 120GB can be used despite BIOS limitations. M$ stuff, on the other hand, seems bound by BIOS settings.
