- Subject: [BL] Haunted Soundblaster?
- Date: Tue, 14 Jun 2005 16:11:26 -0700
Hi,
I have been trying to install an old Soundblaster 16 unde BL2. This was the
classic
ISA board with jumpers. It works well in DOS (the PC is a Pentium I). The
initial-
ization goes well under BL2 and all the requisite modules are loaded. The
first odd
symptom is that /dev/dsp, while it exists and has the proper permissions,
cannot be
opened by programs such as mpg123 and play. So, I tried to redirect audio
output to
/dev/audio. This worked for a while, and I could play mp3 and wav files.
After a new
boot, even this did not work. Has anyone had such problems or does anyone
have any
idea what might be happening?
