Edit /etc/rc
# add startx to the bottom
# add /usr/X11R6/bin to PATH (first line)
Move /root/.xinitrc to /

Xvesa (a mini version of XFree86). Version 4.2.0 IIRC.

By adding stuff to BasicLinux and fiddling with it, you
can do just about anything. But the real question is:
will it be worth the effort? If you want to utilize Qt
and recent hardware, it will be much simpler to start
with a foundation which includes Qt and supports recent
hardware.
