That's odd. I would expect the stock RH 6.2 kernel to support
vfat. Maybe this one supports msdos rather than vfat? Did you try

mount -t msdos /dev/hda1 /mnt

? If not, try it and see if that works. I don't think I ever tried to
mount a Win or DOS partition using that RH installation, but I would be
surprised if it's not supported somehow.

PS I'll cc this to the BL list, since there are others there who could
help on this and who know more about Linux than I do. Anyone know what's
the diff between msdos and vfat for M$ file systems? Is it FAT16 and
FAT32 respectively?
