Hi Doug,

But what then about...

YHWH Yireh

YHWH Ropheka

YHWH Nissi

YHWH Mekaddishchem

YHWH Shalom

YHWH Tzebaot

*YHWH Tzidkenu* "Our Righteousness" which you referenced.

YHWH Shammah

YHWH Elyon

YHWH Ro'i

There are other names as well.

Could it be one Name many facets?

Richard I looked at your suggestion about Viels list and how he claims
that
there are many names for YHWH .

I find this rather impausible and I wonder why there is so little
attention
paid to the New Testament explanations regarding this name.

John 17:6 I have manifested Your name to them(apostles) .

So they all knew what Gods name was , which I am sure as we all know there
would hae been much conjesture over this Hebrew name which we now refer to
as the tetragrammation , but obviously they were told clearly about it.

Then we hae the places that we see this name quoted , or rather its
substitute "LORD" in its place.

Acts 2:21 "Whoever calls on the name of the LORD will be saved"
Rom 10:13 "Whoeer calls on the name of the LORD will be saved"

which of course are quotes from Joel 2:32 "Whoever calls on the name of
the
LORD will be saved" which is YHWH , also Ps 54:1 "save me O God by your
name.

Then we have Acts 4:12 that tells us that there is only one name which men
may be saved by , surely that should end the discussion , if Acts 4;12
says
there is only one name , then there is only one name , and that name must
be
Jesus , or pehaps that name for our saviour has been translated wrongly
perhaps it should be Yeshuha , or some such Hebrew word , but what ever is
the correct name for the Messiah is the only name that can fit Rom 10:13.
And there can only be one name .

And surely the Jer 23:6 , when referring to the Messiah who saves Israel ,
and "this is the name by which he will be called YHWH Our Righteousness"
,
how much clearer can that be , our Messiah will be called "YHWH Our
Righteousness".

Just an FYI to the group to be discussed or not as you wish.

I know the subject of The Name has been discussed ad infinitum but a
fresh
and unusual approach has appeared...

...that the pronunciation of The Name HAS been preserved in Jewish
writings
and that there are, in fact, MANY pronunciations with different meanings
under different circumstances. Possibly as many as 86 pronunciations!

The author explains The Name in a way that makes sense.

You can find Yoseph Viel's paper on the subject in pdf form here:

The pdf file is the first link.
