Dear Dave,

Dave replies: The O in "KJBO Christians" stands for "ONLY"
KJBO Christians are very dogmatic in their belief
that The King James Bible is the only completely error free Bible

Second, as you know, the list is open to members of all faiths (and of no
faith), and the fact that a member makes his religious orientation known
simply makes it easier for the rest of us to "know where he's coming
from".
On the other hand, before inviting him to join, please make sure that he
understands the following excerpt from the list rules:
"B-Hebrew is a list at which members can discuss issues and raise
questions
regarding Biblical Hebrew language and literature. All discussions must
proceed with the basic scholarly principles of logic and evidence.
Arguments
based on religious faith and theology are not permitted. B-Hebrew is a
non-theological forum. While the discussion of Biblical Hebrew will
sometimes approach theological issues, members should ensure that they
steer
discussion towards language and literature, rather than theology. Please
do
not treat the forum as your own personalised column at which you can make
pronouncements. Instead, you should always seek to interact with members
in
a cordial and reasoned way which promotes discussion."
In other words, if what he intends to do is to state "Hebrew Word #3068
should be read as "JEHOVAH" and not read as "Adonay" because that's what
I
believe" over and over again, he will very quickly find himself on
moderation.
Also please make sure that he knows that the YHWH/Adonai issue has been
discussed at length, and suggest that he look through the archives to see
if
he really has anything substantial to add. If not, once again he might
find
that some members, moderators included, will allow him a very short
leash.
In other words, if he comes to discuss and to learn and to respect
others,
he's most welcome. If he comes to preach, he might find a more receptive
audience elsewhere.

Yigal, I will try to pass this on to Bibleprotector.
In the meantime Doug Belot has contacted me off-line
and said that he would "like to discuss the name "Jehovah"
with a KJBO Christian.
I explained that I was not a KJBO Christian.
I explained that my own designation of myself is:[self-proclaimed seeker
of the truth concerning both "Jehovah" and "Yahweh"]
I have asked Doug if he would want to discuss the name "Jehovah"
with me "Either OFF Line" or if it was allowed, ON Line"
P.S. I have information that the author of "Sola Scriptura" [Martin
Luther]
confronted the Jewish People of his day, as to the claim
that Hebrew Word #3068 was not meant to be read as "Jehovah".
Obviously he and Tyndale and many others,
disagreed with the Hebrew/Jewish viewpoint
on this issue, and they both went on to translate their own Bibles
into their own respective languages
[i.e. German and early English]
Can this information be openly discussed on B-Hebrew?
It is a fact that the translators of the first English Bibles,
all transliterated Hebrew Word #3068 several times as "Iehoua" or
"Jehovah" etc.,
while at the same time, they translated Hebrew word #3068
as "the LORDE" or "The LORD" thousands of times.
This does seem to provide information that the early English/German
translators
were aware of the Hebrew/Jewish belief on this issue,

The title of this post:
"Would B-hebrew discuss the name Jehovah with a KJBO Christian? " is only
a hypothetical question.
I am not a KJBO Christian, although I am somewhat familiar with their
beliefs.
I wrote the question below to a KJBO Christian on
Who's your Final Authority / Which Bible Discussion Board.
>>>
Would you be willing to join the B-hebrew Discussion Board and attempt to
convince the Hebrew Scholars who post on B-Hebrew, that it is they that
are in error, not the KJB.
What method would you use to prove to Hebrew Scholars that the Masoretes
wanted Hebrew Word #3068 to be read as "JEHOVAH" and not read as
"Adonay".
Since 1611, how many KJBO Christians have spent any time trying to
convince a Hebrew Scholar that Hebrew Word #3068 should be read as
"JEHOVAH", and not read as "Adonay"?
Shain, It certainly would be interesting to see you and Bibleprotector
join the B-Hebrew Discussion Board, and attempt to convince B-Hebrew
Scholars that the correct pronunciation of Hebrew Word 3068 is "JEHOVAH"

I don't know the board you refer to, or who these "Hebrew Scholars" are,
but it seems like a fairly secular group to me.
I have a more astounding and convincing way of showing that God's name is
JEHOVAH
than what they would allow.
>>>
Would the moderators of this B-hebrew Discussion Board allow
"Bibleprotector" to join B-hebrew and
attempt to convince B-Hebrew members that God's name is actually
"Jehovah"?

Karl, I did not invent the terms, don't want them to do anything,
and don't like them myself.
But 'suffix tense' and 'suffixing tense' have been used in the BH
secondary literature.
So when talking to the widest spread of people,
I include such terms.
