His PhD is in Linguistics and Semitics from UCLA, 1987. His dissertation
was entitled "Word Order in Aramaic from the Perspective of Functional
Grammar and Discourse Analysis" and is xxiv + 522 pages long.

He is one of the top people in the field, in case you were wondering.

Just out of interest what was your PhD? Where did you do it? We've
