Sergio:
I noticed that some, by no means all, of the BGD KPT letters were hard in
Galilean accent, e.g. Ναζερετ, Καπερναυμ, Ματθαιον, while Καπερναυμ had no
Judean equivalent, Ναζερεθ and Μαθθαιον are found in the Alexandrian
tradition texts.
>From examples like these, I suspect that the Galilean accent had slightly
fewer soft pronunciations for BGD KPT letters than did Judean accent, but
that it was noticeable to first century speakers.
I first noticed this because I believe that the Hebrew letters originally
had only one pronunciation each letter. The reason the BGD KPT and Sin/Shin
have more than one pronunciation is because of the influence of Aramaic and
other languages on the pronunciation of Hebrew. Thus these represent late
pronunciations that are not original to Biblical Hebrew.
