Good day to all!
I have been reading posting to this group only for some weeks now.
Quite likely, the issue had been touched on before...
In a nutshell,
Is there any final consensus on the connection/lack-of-connection between the
Habiru/Apiru and the ancient Hebrews, and,
Is there any final consensus on the origins of the word in Semetic languages
(to my understanding related to the root Ayin-Phei-Reish-- as in "dust", the
dusty or dusty feet ones... Or is it related to Ayin-Beth-Reish, as the bible
claims, namely standing for "trans"--those who have arrived from trans river
or even desert etc.)
and,
Is there any final consensus on the the label's incorporation into Egyptian
usage?
