- Subject: [b-hebrew] Galilean "shibolet" in first century?
- Date: Thu, 10 Jan 2008 09:24:28 +0100
All of you know the story about the northern Israelites that couldn't
pronounce "shibolet", but pronounced "sibolet" instead. My question is, is
there any indication that this pronunciacion also applied to Galileans in the
first century?
If so, Jesus name, that was possibly "Yeshua", was pronounced "Yesua" by
Galileans.
