In some systems square boxes indicate that the system font lacks the specified Unicode character. System fonts for Hebrew are usually designed for Israeli Hebrew which doesn't use accents and will display boxes if the text contains accents.
The SBL Hebrew font, SBL_Hbrw.ttf, has all the accents defined in the latest version of Unicode, Unicode 4.1, and is available for FREE at
http://www.sbl-site.org/educational/biblicalfonts.aspx .
It displays properly in all recent Windows systems. Linux and Mac OS X systems have rendering problems with this version of the font and don't display the text very well.
