Because they are both wrong. His name is Tzemach. Zecharia does not translate the name.

Rashi and Ibn Ezra say that this is Zerubavel. Rashi further explains that though some say that this is Mashiach, this refers to second Temple.

"U'MiTachtav Yitzmach" Rashi says he will grow from the seed of royalty. Radak says he will grow from Jerusalem. Metzudat David says that Mashiach will grow from his (Zerubavel's) seed.

Anyway, tzemach, the word, not proper noun, means plant

In Zechariah 6:12 The Name Tsemach translates Branch, in Greek it translates anatole, which means rising of the sun. can anyone explain why?
