You are assuming that "TLDT" (alternately spelled TWLDT, TWLDWT, and
TLDWT) refers to generations. But words from that root include
bringing forth of things that are not children. Hence it can also
refer to "bringing forth" as in narration. (Giving birth is one type
of bringing forth.)

JCR: Yeah. NWT uses 'histories' as the translation for
tldwt in an attempt to choose a word that works for all
of the occurences.
It's clear that 'generations' wouldn't work every time
irrespective of whether we look on the formula as a
beginning or as an ending.
