As I understand it, RaQ is from the root RQQ (=YRQ) "to spit". Somehow
it gets the connotation "thin" or "lean" (from an Arabic cognate?);
or it may be a misreading of DaQ "thin", where Daleth is mistaken for
Resh. DaQ is in Genesis 41:6, 7, 23, 24, 27; RaQ is in Leviticus 13:30.

As an adverb, RaQ means "only", "certainly", "surely" in the contexts
which you cite. With a negative (RaQ ... Lo'), it means "except", as
in Genesis 47:26.
