I understand HYKL refers to a large meeting room, and by extension the
structure that houses such a room. It doesnt specify what the structure is
made of. Nor is it limited to a temple, but used of royalty as well, e.g. 1
King 6:3.
As for the structure itself, 2 Samuel 7 mentions that it was made of
curtains, i.e. a tent.
