My friend, Dr. Baruch Schwartz of the Hebrew University Bible Department,
spoke at the SBL session and actually presented the case for the clear
existence of E as one of the documents (stress documents and not traditions)
employed in making the present text. I don't know what the stance was of
other speakers.
