Is any one able to give me some help on the use of the second person in
Hebrew?
My understanding until now is that in the Old Testament writings, the use of
the second person was to indicate that the subject was singular or plural:
there was no suggestion that the second person plural was also used as a
respectful form when addressing elders, strangers etc. Is there evidence
somewhere in the history of Hebrew that the second person had familiar and
respectful forms as many modern languages do today?
Grateful for any help.
