For your interest, here are the correspondences between the
archaeology of Shechem and the biblical accounts noted by David Rohl
("A Test of Time", pp.320-325 and elsewhere). Rohl's dates in [...]
may be ignored if your prefer as Rohl's arguments do not depend on
this absolute dating.

Amarna period Shechem is in the Saul rules hill country and
[c.1030-1010] territory of Lab'ayu Gilead, Shechem not mentioned

Also in answer to LMB's request, some more data on cities and sons
sharing names: Genesis 4:17, also possibly some of the "sons" of
Genesis 10.
