When I taught Introductory Akkadian, I used the English translation of
Riemschneider.
It was low priced, well designed as a textbook, with exercises, though, as
NPL says,
quite boring for someone who doesn't like OB omen texts.
Since then there have been other English grammars, as NPL has pointed out.
