Vince,

Tamar Zewi has a 1999 monograph in the AOAT(?) series in which she looks at
nunation in Classical Arabic, Biblical Hebrew, El-Amarna Canaanite, and
Ugaritic.
She reviews the past treatments of both the paragogic nun and the energic
nun, lists all of the relevant verbal forms, and provides a brief (and
unsatisfying, IMHO) analysis in the final chapter.
