in that ZAH volume with Hendel, you might also look at my article. ;-)
you'll find a ref to my 1995 dissertation on the hebrew verb.

btw, my conclusions in that work are interesting in light of my word
order studies of medieval and modern hebrew. if you bracket out the
so-called consecutive constructions, you'll find that the systems are
virtually identical in their dynamic, especially from a generative
point of view. interesting.
