Dear Professor,
Would you care to comment on my analysis of 2 Samuel 12:1-25?

wayyiqtol, narrative=So the LORD sent Nathan to David.
wayyiqtol, narrative=He came to him,
wayyiqtol, narrative=and said to him,
x-qatal,report="There were two men in a certain city,
nominal,description=the one rich and the other poor.
x-qatal,background=The rich man had very many flocks and herds;
'eyn,contrast=but the poor man had nothing but one little ewe lamb,
x-qatal,background=which he had bought.
wayyiqtol, continuation=And he brought it up,
wayyiqtol, continuation=and it grew up with him and with his
children;
x-yiqtol,habitual=it used to eat of his morsel,
x-yiqtol,habitual=and drink from his cup,
x-yiqtol,habitual=and lie in his bosom,
wayyiqtol, continuation=and it was like a daughter to him.
wayyiqtol, narrative=Now there came a traveler to the rich man,
wayyiqtol, narrative=and he was unwilling to take one of his own
flock or herd
infinitive,purpose=to prepare for the wayfarer who had come to him,
wayyiqtol, narrative=So he took the poor man's lamb,
wayyiqtol, narrative=and prepared it for the man coming to him."
wayyiqtol, narrative=Then David's anger was greatly kindled against
the man;
wayyiqtol, narrative=and he said to Nathan,
nominal,oath="As the LORD lives,
nominal,description=the man doing this is a dead man; (cf. 1Sa 20:31)

x-yiqtol,future=and he shall restore the lamb fourfold,
x-qatal,reason=because he did this thing,
x-qatal,reason=and because he had no pity."
wayyiqtol, narrative=Nathan said to David,
nominal,identification="You are the man.
x-qatal,present=Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel,
x-qatal,report=`I anointed you king over Israel,
x-qatal,report=and I delivered you out of the hand of Saul;
wayyiqtol, continuation=and I gave you your master's house, . . .
wayyiqtol, continuation=and I gave you the house of Israel and of
Judah;
nominal,condition=and if this were too little,
weyiqtolcohortative=I will add to you as much more.
x-qatal,question=Why have you despised the word of the LORD…
x-qatal,past=You have smitten Uriah the Hittite with the sword,
x-qatal,past=and have taken his wife to be your wife,
x-qatal,past=and have slain him with the sword of the Ammonites.
x-yiqtol,future=Now the sword shall never depart from your house,
x-qatal,past=because you have despised me,
wayyiqtol, continuation=and have taken the wife of Uriah …
x-qatal,present=Thus says the LORD,
participle,present=`Behold, I am raising up evil against you …
weqatal,future=and I will take your wives before your eyes,
weqatal,future=and give them to your neighbor,
weqatal,future=and he shall lie with your wives …
x-qatal,reason=For you did it secretly;
x-yiqtol,contrast=but I will do this thing before all Israel . . .
wayyiqtol, narrative=David said to Nathan,
qatalreport="I have sinned against the LORD."
wayyiqtol, narrative=And Nathan said to David,
x-qatal,report="The LORD also has put away your sin.
x-yiqtol,comment=You shall not die.
x-qatal,past=Nevertheless, because …you scorned …
x-yiqtol,future=the child that is born to you shall die."
wayyiqtol, narrative=Then Nathan went to his house.
wayyiqtol, narrative=And the LORD struck the child that Uriah's wife
bore to David,
wayyiqtol, narrative=and it became sick.
wayyiqtol, narrative=David therefore besought God for the child;
wayyiqtol, narrative=and David fasted,
weqatal,habitual=and he would go in
weqatal,habitual=and spend the night
weqatal,habitual=and lay upon the ground.
wayyiqtol,narrative=And the elders of his house stood beside him,
infinitive,purpose=to raise him up from the ground
x-qatal,past=but he relented not,
x-qatal,past=nor did he eat food with them.
wayyiqtol,new parag.=And it was
prepositionprotasis=On the seventh day
wayyiqtol,apodosis=the child died.
wayyiqtol,narrative=And the servants of David feared to tell him
x-qatal,subord.cl.=that the child was dead;
x-qatal,reason=for they said,
infinitive,protasis= "Behold, while the child was yet alive,
qatalapodosis=we spoke to him,
x-qatal,report=and he did not listen to us;
x-yiqtol,future=how then can we say to him
qatalpast=The child has died?
weqatal,future=He may do himself some harm."
wayyiqtol,narrative=So David saw that his servants were whispering
together,
wayyiqtol,narrative=And David perceived that the child was dead;
wayyiqtol,narrative=Then David said to his servants,
x-qatal,past="Has the child died?"
wayyiqtol,narrative=They said,
qatalreport="He has died."
wayyiqtol,narrative=Then David arose from the earth,
wayyiqtol,narrative=and washed,
wayyiqtol,narrative=and anointed himself,
wayyiqtol,narrative=and changed his clothes;
wayyiqtol,narrative=and he went into the house of the LORD,
wayyiqtol,narrative=and worshiped;
wayyiqtol,narrative=he then went to his own house;
wayyiqtol,narrative=and when he asked,
wayyiqtol,narrative=they set food before him,
wayyiqtol,narrative=and he ate.
wayyiqtol,narrative=Then his servants said to him,
nominal,present="What is this thing
x-qatal,relative cl=.that you have done?
x-qatal,report=You fasted for the child while it was alive;
wayyiqtol,continuation=and you wept
x-qatal,protasis=but when the child died,
qatal,apodosis=you arose
wayyiqtol, continuation=and you ate food."
wayyiqtol,narrative=He said,
nominal,protasis="While the child was still alive,
qatal,apodosis=I fasted
wayyiqtol, continuation=and I wept;
x-qatal,reason=for I said,
participle,present=`Who knows
yiqtol,future=whether the LORD will be gracious to me,
weqatal,future=that the child may live?'
x-qatal,report=But now he is dead;
participle,present=why am I fasting?
x-yiqtol,present=Am I able to bring him back again?
participle,concurrent=I am going to him,
x-yiqtol,future=but he will not return to me."
wayyiqtol,narrative=Then David comforted his wife, Bathsheba,
wayyiqtol,narrative=and went in to her,
wayyiqtol,narrative=and lay with her;
wayyiqtol,narrative=and she bore a son,
wayyiqtol,narrative=and he called his name Solomon.
x-qatal,background=And the LORD loved him,
wayyiqtol,narrative=and sent a message by Nathan the prophet;
wayyiqtol,narrative=and he called his name Jedidiah, because of the
LORD.
