another valid point, at least in part. (there is also the question of
whether the programs you endured were well run. i've seen different israeli
ulpans both kill and bring to life the same students, even using the same
material. but we'll assume they were well run.)

yet humans do have certain wiring mechanisms for language that seem more
more basic than learning styles. e.g. kids learn aurally and orally.

part of the problem is the goal of learning.
i'm not sure most b-hebrew programs are geared toward learning and
internalizing BH, rather, towards describing the morphology and syntax,
amassing a gridwork in a foreign language for a basic vocabulary and
writing exegetical papers in the respective foreign language.

i was impressed with your english. can you do that even better in hebrew?
