working on submission draft of paper that analyzes tiberian phonology
on its own terms, on first principles in phonology. have different
versions depending on what fragment of hebrew paradigm looking at. the
one i'm polishing up now is working with segholates, and i'm forced to
posit five vowels: i,e,a,o,u. i'd be grateful if anyone has come
across something recent, say 1995-present, on the phonological
inventory of vowels. has anyone actually suggested anything besides
the standard i,a,u in print? recently? going back to look at jouon and
malone again... but hey.
cheers
V
