I guess the reference is to Sirach 17:17 (LXX and NRSV) which looks
like a summary of Deut 32:8-9. NRSV margin has extra text from "other
ancient authorities", I don't know what, maybe K-D looked at that. The
K-D quote is on vol.1 p.989 in my Hendrickson 1996 reprint.

Help me with this reference. I don't have K&D to look at his abbrevs.
What is (sir xvii. 14)? I have looked at "Wisdom of Jesus Son of Sirach
17:14"
and see nothing in there about angels, much less guardian angels. The
entire
chapter is about man, and what God did for him. The only mention of angels
in
the chapter is in verse 32, "He marshals the host of the height of heaven;
but all men are dust and ashes."
