hinniaH 'he put, left, assumed' and heniaH 'he gave rest'
are still distinguished in modern Hebrew,
though the lengthened nun in one is no longer ennunciated. (a purposeful
pun, if you like lively alliteration)

the verb is one of several kinds of irregularities where a verb has two
forms, sometimes "emic", as in this case.
