The AIfIA newsletter is published every other week
(pretty much) and features news about what's new with
AIfIA and with our partner sites.

-- Austin Govella, AIfIA Member and Volunteer, will be
taking over the publication of this newsletter. He has
helped put together the past few mailings and will
continue to keep you updated on AIfIA and our partner
sites and organizations. So, when the next newsletter
has a different sender, don't be surprised (and update
your mail filters accordingly, if necessary).

Let's get to the news!

---- WHAT'S NEW WITH AIFIA -- http://www.aifia.org ----

1) NEW MEMBERSHIP PRICING SYSTEM
To help promote IA around the world, AIfIA introduced a
three-tiered pricing system to offer members from developing
countries substantially lower membership rates.
--> JOIN AIFIA: http://aifia.org/signup/

2) NEW 2003-2004 ADVISORY BOARD
The board of directors has selected the 2003-2004 advisory
board featuring exceptional contributors from AIfIA's first
year and some totally new names from related fields such as
interaction design, usability, and content management.

-- BOXES AND ARROWS -- http://www.boxesandarrows.com/

Two good recent Boxes and Arrows articles:

1) The Devil's in the Wireframes
Wireframes: At once a singular composition and a
collaborative expression, communicating the vision of both
an individual and a team. As a result, they can be stacked
with an enormous amount of detail. Are we becoming victims
of information pollution in our own wireframes?
--> http://tinyurl.com/qvde

2) Controlled Vocabularies: A Glosso-Thesaurus
In part 4 of the continuing series on controlled
vocabularies and faceted classification, the authors present
a glossary of terms to help cut through through the verbiage
often found in this field.
