The AIfIA newsletter is published every other
week (pretty much) and features news about what's new
with AIfIA and with our partner sites.

So let's get to the news!

---- WHAT'S NEW WITH AIFIA -- http://www.aifia.org ----

1) AIfIA Partners: We are pleased to announce the
University of Baltimore is our newest partner. The
University of Baltimore School of Information Arts and
Technologies offers an M.S. in Interaction Design and
Information Architecture. We are excited to be
collaborating on the Education Curriculum initiative.

--> EDUCATION INITIATIVE: http://aifia.org/pg/curriculum.php

2) AIfIA Face-To-Face: AIfIA organizes a variety of
informal Face 2 Face (F2F) meetings to foster
discussion and professional networking. Membership is
not required to attend these events. The newly-updated
Calendar of Events will list F2F events that you can
attend and learn more about AIfIA and talk with Board
and Leadership Council members, colleagues and
interested practitioners.
--> SEE THE EVENTS: http://aifia.org/calendar/

3) AIfIA Initiatives: Wondering what AIfIA is up to?
Want to see how you can get involved? The new AIfIA
Initiatives page has a list of all of the projects that
AIfIA is working on.

-- BOXES AND ARROWS -- http://www.boxesandarrows.com/

Two good recent Boxes and Arrows articles:

1) Views and Forms: Principles of Task Flow for Web
Applications Part 1

One of the defining elements of web applications is
their support for the editing and manipulation of
stored data. Unlike the typical conversation that goes
on between a user and a content-centric website
however, this additional capability requires a more
robust dialog between user and application.

2) Six Tips for Improving Your Design Documentation

Good organization, complete information, and clear
writing are, of course, key to the success of any
design document, but there are some other, less-obvious
techniques you can use to make your documents more
readable and understandable. Here are a few of them.

-- IAWIKI -- http://www.IAwiki.net/

The IAwiki is on a short hiatus. It hopefully should be
back online very soon...

IAwiki is a collaborative discussion space for the
topic of Information Architecture. Anyone can
contribute, and there are no pre-registration hoops to
jump thru.

-- ARGUS CENTER FOR INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE --
http://argus-acia.com/

An oldie-but-goodie from the ACIA:

Information Architecture Glossary
"This glossary is intended to foster development of a
shared vocabulary within the new and rapidly evolving
field of information architecture. It should serve as a
valuable reference for anyone involved with or
interested in the design of information architectures
for web sites, intranets and other information
systems."
