WHAT WOULD A BOYS RITES OF PASSAGE LOOK LIKE FOR THE ITHACA AREA?

A group of men who have long been EarthArts
(www.http://earthartsithaca.org/) and Primitive Pursuits
(http://primitivepursuits.com/) mentors along with area fathers are
developing a boys rites of passage ceremony for the Ithaca area. The
traditional ceremony uses fire as a tool and a metaphor for personal growth.

Three mentors (Pierce Walsh, Sam Bosco, & Steve Gabriel) are currently
engaged in leadership training with the Vermont Wilderness School and
plan on launching a program for men in 2014 and for boys starting in 2015.

Come dialog and share your thoughts on this work. Events serve to
educate the community about our vision and process as well as fundraise
for this all-volunteer effort which includes many hours of training,
planning, and organizing.
