Local Food & Fiber Fair at Mann Library, Nov. 18th 2010
Mann Library <http://www.mannlib.cornell.edu/> , Cornell Cooperative  
Extension of Tompkins County <http://ccetompkins.org/> , the Cornell  
Small Farms Program <http://www.smallfarms.cornell.edu/>  and the  
Cornell Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs <http://dos.cornell.edu/greek/ 
 >  are pleased to announce the 2nd annual Local Food and Fiber Fair @  
Cornell University. The fair will take place at Mann Library on  
Thursday, November 18th. Maps and directions for getting there are

The fair’s goal is to build connections and raise awareness about the  
variety of activities on- and off-campus related to local and regional  
agriculture and food systems, and their links to healthy and resilient  
individuals, families and communities.

The day’s program will include:
Lightning Presentations and Networking, 1-2pm, Room 102 <http://www.smartmap.mannlib.cornell.edu/location/rm%20102 
 >  -Participating presenters will share brief descriptions of their  
work and activities in supporting sustainable agriculture, food  
systems, rural economies, and community nutrition.
Food & Fiber Fair, 2:30-6pm, Mann Lobby <http://www.smartmap.mannlib.cornell.edu/location/Mann%20Library%20Lobby 
 >  -An open market that celebrates the bounty of the Ithaca area,  
featuring displays by Cornell and Ithaca-area programs that support  
sustainable local agricultural systems and healthy nutrition as well  
as local vendors offering a wide array of fresh, locally produced  
vegetables, cheeses, honey, wool and other fiber products and more.
Film showing, A Farm for the Future <http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00hs8zp 
 > , 6-7:30 pm, Room 102 <http://www.smartmap.mannlib.cornell.edu/location/rm%20102 
 >  -The New World Agriculture and Ecology Group <http://www.rso.cornell.edu/nwaeg/index.html 
 >  and the Cornell Gourmet Club <http://cornellgourmet.wordpress.com/ 
 >  will be hosting a showing of the acclaimed BBC production  
exploring strategies for successful farming with low fossil fuel  
dependence. Discussion to follow....and local popcorn served!
