Okay I understand that gcc 4.2.0 works building xorg-server but I've
got build logs for xorg-server 1.3.0.0 that work against glibc 2.6.1
using gcc 4.1.2 rebuilt it several times so its obviously the exact
opposite of what you are suggesting... (i'm playing the devil's
advocate).

So this is why I'm saying its a gcc 4.2.0 + glibc 2.6.1 issue, so I
guess its a matter of choice as to which gets integrated first. I'd
rather see glibc 2.6.1 go before the fresh version of gcc hit test. I
could then start working on the parallel implementation of gcc and
have some versions plus and minus the working version of gcc to play
with.

Thanks,
