Howdy!

I have been helping someone setup a laptop with a usb external floppy device.

This device needs only two modules: usb-storage and ide-scsi

We have the ide-scsi also setup for his burner like this:

alias char-major-11 sr_mod
above sr_mod scsi_mod ide-scsi sg

so when the "eject" command is given, then the sr_mod is loaded and the rest
afterwards; sr_mod scsi_mod ide-scsi sg

I would like to have the same for the floppy, something like

alias <don't have any clue what char-major-##> usb-storage
above ide-scsi

This does not work with just an entry in /etc/modules.conf of:

alias usb-storage

as the floppy is plugged in and not recognised until the usb-storage module
is
loaded and our entry above does not get it loaded....

Any help? Ideas?
