Charles,

I have had amazing success with Gambusia minnows controlling mosquito
populations here on the Texas Gulf Coast. The climate is similar to
Trinidad, hot, humid and rainy. The frog and toad populations seem to suffer
no ill effects from their presence. I highly recommend using them in your
ponds and lakes.
