This is my first post to this list. I recently
installed a piece of ductwork from my attic to my
furnace area. I installed an automatic damper which
opens and closes as the furnace comes on and closes
when it stops. This seems to work quite well. If you
want to do this with a wood burning stove, it could be
opened and closed with a temperature switch. I found
the damper online which consisted of a short piece of
round ductwork with a 24v clock type motor to open and
close the damper. I purchased the one which closed
with no power via a spring return.
