Mary,

As bees reuse brood comb it builds up with wax, propolis, and cocoons. It is time to recycle that comb and have them start  fresh.

I noticed this smaller, darker cell pattern at the bottom of the comb in the top bar closest to the entrance yesterday. I hope the picture allows it to show up. What does it mean?
