Already left a message. Thanks for the advice y'all. I've never had cause to call an inspector before and completely forgot about them.
Hey Caleb,Please call the state bee inspectors. They were invented to inspect for possible foulbrood hives throughout the state of NC. It is for everyone else's hives safety as well as our own that we call them in when we suspect foulbrood. Here is a web link NC Apiary InspectorsBradOn Tue, Oct 20, 2015 at 3:19 PM, Caleb Haynes <calebthaynes AT gmail.com> wrote:Anyone interested in doing a postmortem on a hive? I just inspected what was my strongest hive a month ago and discovered that all the bees are either dead or gone. Only a couple thousand are left. They have a super of mostly capped honey but a large number of decaying brood, mostly uncapped. No moth activity at all and no sign of any laying worker activity. I'm suspecting foulbrood but have never encountered it before. I'd really like to hear from someone who would recognize it. Will post pics in a little while.
