I agree Geneva,

There were about 5-6 of us from the OCBA at the recent CNG workshop and I agree this will be a great starting point. I was going to suggest we start there to the group and see what they felt. A few more may have been there that are in the bee school, but I did not recoginize them. I also like this as a reference point because it will help those following along understand the goals and guide lines.

Do you see this "CNG" Apairy (group) being an arm of the OCBA or a seperate group as we move forward?
I have CNG status here at our place w/ the only last detail being the inspection next month. So i can help the group obtain that status at the new site or sites after things get going.

tks,
marty

I agree there needs to be clarification with that term CNG, meaning Certified Naturally Grown, has a very clear standard of what that means in terms of beekeeping, which is easily located on the web but I think "chemical free' is a little vague.  If we are going to create an alternative beekeeping apiary, I suggest we work within the format of CNG.
thanks

What is meant by this terminology?  Does this mean you don’t treat the various adverse conditions of the hive with pesticides?  I suppose there may be a (long) list of things and/or practices that are banned if you are going “chemical free”.

Thanks…Tom Grizzle
