I am moving and have two hives to sell... how do you know what a fair price is? I could just sell the bees and store the boxes.... can anyone advise me on how to price? Alicia, If you don't get a response from the OCBA list, try the vendors listed in the classified ads of the NC Agricultural Review (http://www.ncagr.com/paffairs/AgReview/index.htm). Check previous months as well as this month. Also check the "List of Breeders with Permit to Sell in NC" (http://www.ncagr.gov/plantindustry/plant/apiary/documents/PermitToSell2010.pdf). There are people in the area who sell complete hives as well as queens and nucs. I actually still have a queen, not sure if it's possible to buy a nuc without the queen, or to introduce them to her. I have only about 2 cups of bees (I would guess) left, half of them drones. Let me know, I'll come pick them up if you have it. I have only new frames to trade, nothing with drawn out comb due to wax moths and beetles. (You wouldn't want them!) My small colony can't keep them out. The New Busy think 9 to 5 is a cute idea. Combine multiple calendars with Hotmail. Get busy. |
