If they're in there you should be able so see them or their webs. It is not unusual for bees to leave a hole in comb. If the edges are smooth, that's probably what it is.If it is wax moths, they will be all over the five in short order. I don't know of any effective treatment short of putting the hive bodies and frames in a freezer and starting over. Just cross your fingers and watch closely. Wax moths can rarely get started in a new healthy hive.

Oh my! I think I have wax moths in one of my (new) hives. There is a hole in the comb about the size of a silver dollar. The frame is very full of capped honey and brood and I want to nip this problem now. Any advice from the veteran beekeepers is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
