I asked Bernie about the Rescue pear, and he'd never heard of it. Do you
all remember that some years ago it was written up in Pomona? Maybe it was
in Alaska, one reason he might not have heard of it, and maybe it was a
flash in the pan that turned out not to be hardy once taken out of it's
microclimate, or maybe it was rescued from being demolished only to be
consigned to oblivion and neglect by commercial sources. Any clues? It
would take me forever to find it in my old Pomonas, I don't have an index.
