Has anyone heard from Una directly since they had to hit the road?  Did they make it to the host location?

The national news indicates this is a bad or worse than 10 years ago.

By the way, we firefighters use SCBA (SCUBA to a diver) whenever possible—besides the particulates there are carcinogens in wood smoke, cyanide compounds, and toxic gases like CO, CO2, Chlorine, and sulphates in the smoke.  Air purifying respirators (gas masks) will work for a while in open areas if there is enough oxygen left in the air but as the concentrations go up the chemical packs die faster and clog faster. And they haven’t made a gas mask for horses since WWI in all probability.
