I will keep you all and the firefighters in my thoughts.  Anyone with asthma or any lung/heart issues need to take extra care to get as far away as possible or stay indoors with airconditioning/filtration.

Mandatory evacuation of Los Alamos NM was ordered at 1pm today.  My family and I are staying 90 minutes away with members of Santa Fe County Sheriff's Posse.  As of about 1 hour ago evacuation of horses from Los Alamos has been completed.  There are three hold-out stable lots.  One horse would not load and owners left it behind, knowing that on two other lots owners were sheltering their horses in place.

Air quality throughout Los Alamos is poor, with heavy smoke.  Fire ran north inside the Valles Caldera and from there the smoke plume is being blown out over the east rim of the caldera and across all of townsite.  Risk of spot fires under the smoke plume is extreme.

Air quality is poor also in Santa Fe, only a few miles away and directly downwind from the main body of the fire.
