Be careful to ground check DeLorme based maps.  Like many map publishers they put canaries in the maps.  These are deliberate errors or omissions

designed to catch copyright infringers.  Unfortunately a canary can indicate a road crosses a bridge where there is no bridge and if your GPS uses digitized maps to guide you it won’t know the bridge is out.

Try DeLorme software.  I have purchased the whole shebang....GPS, Topo and satelite disc of the state I live in.  Works pretty well!  For those of us, (I'm ashamed to admit I'm one of them) who just has a helluva time deciphering a topo map, the satelite imiage on the GPS helps to know just where I am.  The prices are all pretty reasonable and I have had great luck with customer support.
