I think it is great what you are doing! Yes the mounted end is very under utilized. I will try to give it some thought. But once in a while my mind needs a kick start. Are there any certain areas you are having trouble with?
No particular problem areas. I just figure that while I have a mind that can invent a lot of MSAR options, there will be others I won't have considered yet. ;)

I like the input on "what can be done if we don't bring the horse" and will include that. But what I'm looking for is the less obvious. For example, a contributor here once mentioned MSAR teaming up with the Red Cross during a hurricane evacuation and delivering bottled water to people stuck in the traffic jam. Yesterday I was at a chemical spill drill and saw opportunity for MSAR to help with traffic and crowd control in this particular situation, or been visible additions / deterrents in a parking security role as things got more congested around the hospital. In the event of an evacuation also visible security deterrents for perimeter patrol of the evacuated area. Mounted with good medical training could be mobile/mounted First Aid at a local public event, or in response to a disaster. Packers can haul in gear for a technical rescue / litter carry. Horses trained for weight drag can help clear roads of debris after a nasty storm. This is the kind of 'not quite typical' suggestion I'm looking for. ;)
