This is major bad news. Here are some other venues to get word
out about your stolen tack:

New Mexico Horsetalk http://www.horse-talk.com/
The Horsemen's Voice http://www.horsemensvoice.com/
Back Country Horsemen of New Mexico http://bchnm.org/
Usenet rec.equestrian
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&group=rec.equestrian

I just read on New Mexico Horsetalk that Clint Mortenson's most
excellent saddle shop in Santa Fe was ripped off last month.

Stuart, was the Chaves County Sheriff's Posse listed in the 2003
directory put out by The Horsemen's Voice? If so, that increases
the chances that the folks who robbed you are not local. I have
been thinking for a while that it might be a good idea in general
for Sheriff's Posses and/or MSAR units to get Post Office boxes.
That would provide a small measure of security through obscurity.
