Hi Brian,

We also moved away from wood for our house (we too decided burning propane was worth the full night's sleep!).

For our 17x36 house we have a 150K btu heater (this seems like extreme overkill, but we are planning to use it in a 30x48 house in the future).  We went through 450-ish gallons from mid-Mar to June (though we did both only have 1 layer of plastic on at the time, and we ran late since it was so cold).  We are hoping to stay under 400 gallons this year.

I would also check with the fuel company on their propane vs natural gas recommendation--ours recommended propane last year, but I've heard of a few now encouraging gas.

Good luck, Maryellen
